Jasno shutters are available in a range of wood varieties. Which wood variety you choose will depend on your personal taste and the way in which you wish to use the shutters. Jasno carefully selects all its wood. We ensure a minimum of colour and structural differences, and we guarantee no knots. In addition all louvers are quarter-sawed. This sawing method ensures an attractive wood grain structure and limits twisting. All Jasno shutters are also suitable for use in the bathroom.

The ‘original’ Jasno shutter is the basswood shutter. Basswood is a light but solid wood variety with an attractive grain structure. This wood is ideal for sawing and ensures an attractive finish. As a result, basswood shutters can be produced in a wide variety of shapes, sizes and colours.

Ecowood shutters are a value-for-money variant on the basswood shutter. They are produced from compressed wood fibres all obtained from woodland managed according to high environmental standards. The specific weight is higher than that of basswood, and the (colour) finish also differs from that of basswood. As a result, the possibilities offered by Ecowood are somewhat more restricted.

Western Red Cedar is a light, brownish-red variety of pine with clean, straight grain and with no knotting or flame patterns. The shutter panels are finished with transparent oil. The attractive colour and structure of the wood therefore remain entirely visible. Shutters in Western Red Cedar deliver a fairly outspoken appearance, giving your interior a specific, unique character.
